Publishers WorkFlow Solutions Ltd offer the first truly effective and affordable solution to a fully paper-free book production workflow, from receipt of author assets to delivery of final printer PDF files.

The system automates and centralises the entire workflow to include automatically generated e-mails informing selected users what and when something has been added to the system and by who, what has changed and who has changed it. A fully granular permissions password system allows system administrators to assign different permissions to each individual user restricting them in precisely what they are allowed to do at any stage. You can allow power users access to the entire company's assets or restrict a user to a single file in a single directory.

The system is entirely visual, each user can see thumbnails of everything that is on the system and even comment and annotate directly in the system without the need to download a file. No original file is ever overwritten, all new Master and Approval files sit on top of the ones they replace without destroying them and they can be recovered at any time if required.

Users can preview and annotate artwork before it even goes into page and everything can be preflighted online at every stage or as required to make sure no unpleasant surprises occur in the final stages.

A detailed calendar function allows everyone to see the landmark dates for every project they are involved in. Automatic reminder e-mails can be sent via this function 1, 2 or 3 days before an event is due.

The approval system allows individual pages or whole documents to be approved on-line. On completion of all corrections, the printer can be automatically notified that the composite PDF file is ready for downloading.

A great deal of further automation is possible. Such as automatic AW scaling, resolution setting and colour space checking. In theory, if it can be done in Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, it can be automated on the Publishers WorkFlow Solutions system. Further custom automation is available at an extra charge.
