Automatic Proof Collation


We mentioned earlier that using our WorkFlow System will save time, and we all know that time is money.

Well, this one pays for the system on its own!!

Basically, if you can get the relevant parties to do their mark-up on screen using Acrobat Reader 8 then the system can collate as many sets as required automatically. This reduces what can sometimes be several days of work to a matter or minutes.

Firstly, instruct the relevant parties (Author, Proof Reader, Publisher etc) to mark up their proofs using Acrobat Reader 8 (we give full instructions on how to do this in our video tutorials, see How to Mark Up on Screen Using Reader 8).

Secondly, make sure they upload their files into the same collection.

Then simply click the appropriate workflow and a few minutes later you will find a new collection has been added and the collated set is posted neatly into it.

Now download the resultant collated file.

Open in Acrobat and simply scan through the Collated file to sort any contradictions and tidy any overlaps and unclear marks.

As long as the peple who generated the sets have followed the simple rules laid down in our tutorial then you will have a neat and tidy collated set ready to go to the typesetter for revise.

All done - IN MINUTES - not hours or even days. And there is no limit to the number of versions you can collate. We have succesfully tested it with 10 sets.
